On that particular day, in the early hours of morning, we received a very early but expected surprise!
My husband and I had been blessed with one daughter and were expecting our second daughter at the end of January.
We had some wonderful friends who offered to take care of our oldest when the second was born. January 7th, 1996 was one of the coldest nights in recorded history in central Florida. Ice on the roads, wind chills, and widespread frost. We spent a few hours covering delicate plants to protect them from the freeze. Also, our generous "babysitting" friends were packing for a ski vacation and leaving on the 8th.
About 2:00 in the morning of January 8th our three-year-old woke up crying. We sat with her for a little while and she fell asleep.
Not much longer after that, and being very pregnant, I had to use the restroom. Very typical of a person in my condition! Well, it turned out to be much more than that! The doctor said to get to the hospital as quickly as possible. We bundled up our oldest and stopped, we had no place for her to go.
Thankfully about 3:30am a very tired friend, agreed to let our daughter stay with her. Then we were off to the hospital about 4:30am.
I remember it being a crystal clear sky, full of stars. The morning proceeded smoothly, with no issues or problems. The nurse woke me up (guess I needed a nap) and said it was time.
We looked at each other and both started crying tears of joy, as we were about to be blessed again.
January 8th, 1996, 12:38 pm.

June 9, 2018 was the day I met the love of my life.
I was invited to a friend’s graduation open house but had not planned on going.
I had a sudden urge to at least drop by because my best friend was going to be there, so I did. I didn’t see her right away. I was inside while she was outside. I was playing ping pong while my future was 100 feet away. I finally went out to throw a football with some guys and I saw her playing 9-square.
She was beautiful. Standing in line waiting to get back in the game because, if we’re being honest, she wasn’t the best at it.. but don’t tell her I said that. I asked my friend about her because I could see that she had the sweetest soul and biggest heart just by looking at her.
Smiling. Laughing. Oblivious that both of our lives were going to change for the better as soon as my friend introduced me to her. I shook her hand like a dweeb but she loved it. We laughed all night while I was cutting in line to just be in her square. I was protecting her square then like I protect her heart now. I later learned that she wasn’t going to go to the open house either but there she was standing next to me.
But she told me we weren’t going to happen because she was leaving for school to go to Colorado State. She didn’t want her heart broken by having to leave. I couldn’t even get a date with her. I wanted it so bad and asked just about every day because I knew we could do it. Over time I got to know her as a friend. But each day I got closer to her and her time to leave.
When she made the decision to give us a shot, I couldn’t remember a time in my life I had ever been so excited. And now here we are. Going through life together every day even with the distance. But distance means nothing when you have someone who means everything.
So here’s to you, Bethany. I love you.

This is the moment where I met my lovely wife!
I saw here at the Pensacola Dog Beach sitting on a picnic table by herself. As I approached her to strike up a conversation, a dog sprinted out of the water at me, ran through my legs shook around, and got me all wet.
When I looked up at my future wife to ask if this dog was hers I realized I did not have to, because the answer was expressed on her blushed face! LOL! We hit it off, and when it was time to go initially we left without exchanging numbers. I figured I would see her again at the dog beach. After I got in my vehicle I decided I wasn't going to take that chance, instead, I wanted to leave it up to her. So I drove by the steps where she was walking up with her dog and I asked her if she would like my number.
She said yes, I gave it to her, she put it in her phone. I did not ask her for her number and she did not ask me if I wanted it...
So I said hope to see you again soon, and said goodbye and drove off. 5 minutes later she texted me, "It was nice to meet you!"
I responded and suddenly I felt like I just scored the game winning goal in overtime!
I was so pumped I rolled down my windows and blasted whatever music was on the radio as loud as it could go and sang along all the way back home.

This is the date and the time that my husband and I were married.
I gave him this beautiful gift for our first anniversary (the paper anniversary).
He absolutely loves it and it looks amazing hanging in our home office. Thank you for creating such a memorable gift for me to give to him on our special day.

This is the moment that my husband and I started dating. This was at his aunt's wedding and our first dance ever.

I matched with a girl on tinder who lived in Malmö, and she was from Spain.
We started talking on Instagram and we decided that I was going to drive to malmö to pick her up the same day. :)
That was over 2 years ago and now we are living together in a little cozy village in Sweden and waiting for our baby to come. :)❤️
So I chose the day when we first met! She was very happy with the star map, best gift ever!

On the 24th of February I had my „second“ first date after 23 years.
We were together 1995-1997, we were engaged for a year. It was this „first big love“. We both lived different lives after we split up but never forgot each other.
And then, so many-many years later, we fell in love, again. And we are happier than ever... 21 years later❤️

This was the magical sky I proposed to wife under. It was her first time in Hayward, WI where we have a family cabin. We walked down to the dock and the sky was lit up with these beautiful stars. The sky was so clear and the stars so bright. It was the perfect moment to propose. I got on one knee and asked if she wanted this place to be in her life forever. The sky made the setting so much more memorable.
Our wedding theme became “Starry night” and stars have been a constant theme for our life since.
