On January 4, 2019, my ex-husband who was a police officer (a great police officer), was working a traffic detail and was struck in the roadway by a pickup truck. His injuries were horrific but he was a fighter and spent the next three days in ICU. On the third day the children and I had the worst meeting possible and were told there was nothing they could do as his injuries were far to great to recovery from. On January 7, 2019, we made the final decision and he passed away at 8:10pm. This is something no child or anyone should have to go through and it should be a constant reminder to PLEASE, PLEASE SLOW DOWN WHEN YOU SEE BLUE/RED LIGHTS AND PAY ATTENTION WHEN DRIVING.
