Dublin, Ireland on the 9th of January, 1990, at 11:00pm

On the 9th on January 1990, my parents were sitting in a car parked in the driveway of my Dad's house at 11pm.

My parents had always known each other growing up and both families were very close friends. They had been seeing each other for a while and on this particular night, they decided to take the next step into their relationship and become 'official'.
This was the night that changed their lives forever. This was the night that they were guaranteed pure happiness for eternity. So my 'Our Lucky Stars' chart was not for me, but a gift for my dad for Christmas 2018. We sadly lost my beautiful Mother to cancer in April 2018. I gifted my dad the star map so he can look at it every day and be reminded of that night.
To take himself back to that night and smile to counteract the pain he goes through every day without her here. He didn't know what to say as he unwrapped the paper, stepped back and took a minute to register what the star map was. And I will never forget that look when he realised what the star map was.

After that emotional few minutes of thanking me and telling me it was the most precious gift he had ever been given, he joked about how I remembered the date and time and said: "Well, Jess, I know you do actually listen to me sometimes".
