Here at Under Lucky Stars, we like to think our star maps are a gift of a lifetime. A meaningful part of our customers lives that gets woven into the fabric of their relationship, families and futures.

We love to hear the stories behind our maps. Why did you choose that date? What detail about the night was most special to you? Could you tell us something about your partner?

Some of our customer stories have made our hearts (and eyes) fill.

We thought we would check up on some of our customers and see where the star-studded maps ended up!

This is Ashley. Her story really blew us out of the water.

She chose the date May 23, 2015, the date of her wedding.

It was no ordinary marriage. Ashley and her husband defied expectation and chose their love over the expectations of those around us.

They had been young parents and while a baby can fill your life with joy and unbridled love – the responsibility and long nights can be tough. Ashley and her husband rose to the challenge with the enthusiasm and energy of their youth and young love but they also had to finish high school.

Tragedy soon befell the young couple when Ashley’s mother-in-law was diagnosed with stage-4 cancer which later took her life. Many of you may have experienced the loss of a loved one, or seen someone dear to you suffer from a terrible illness and will understand the emotional and physical toll this can bring.

Shortly before their wedding, Ashley herself was diagnosed with an ovarian syndrome. She was already grappling with doubt and insecurity about their future together after another emotionally challenging period of trying and failing to conceive more children.

Yet – love conquers all.

Through these and other trials and tribulations, Ashley and her high-school sweetheart got married on May 23. Just over two years later – they were expecting another baby, due on her late mother-in-laws birthday!

She ordered one of our star maps to commemorate this special day when the stars aligned for them. When their map arrived – they saw one of the constellations as two people holding hands.

The star map is a constant reminder of the journey of their love, through the good times and the bad. As Ashley said, “through everything, we always stood by each other”.

They chose the classic black design, and it still hangs in their home today. “The most meaningful gift I have given” – Ashley.
